Product Options: Total Flexibility
One of the best features about Waypoint Commerce is also one of the reasons we decided to create this software platform to start with. So many e-commerce solutions on the market have rigid product option management. We designed a system where you can choose and customize the attributes your products will have.
For example, let's say you are going to be selling women's clothing. To configure your products, you'll need to specify things like size, color and fabric. In your product options panel, you will create a product option called color, and the type will be the color picker. When you add a new product, you'll get a color selector so you can choose what colors are available for your product. To set up size, you'll create a product option called size, and the type is a number series. Then for each product you can check off which sizes are available.
Each time you set up a product option, like size or fabric, you can choose if it will affect inventory. For example, if you list a t-shirt as a product, you will specify that it is available in 4 colors and 3 sizes. You'll want to track inventory for each combination of these (12 possible combinations). Waypoint commerce will show you each of these combinations so you can specify the inventory of each. You can add product options that do not affect inventory too, so if you want to also specify the manufacturer, you can do so for a product but the inventory will be the same regardless of which is selected.
